Союз so that может вводить придаточные предложения как со значением цели, так и со значением следствия. Придаточные предложения цели и следствия близки по значению; в обоих случаях одно событие рассматривается как результат другого события, но в придаточном следствия это событие уже осуществилось, а в придаточном цели его осуществление только предполагается.
